Ebda Store

Accepting InstaPay from shoppers

InstaPay has no merchant API, so Ebda Store cannot see a transfer on its own. The shopper transfers to your InstaPay address or mobile number and uploads a screenshot of the receipt. You review it and confirm the payment. Ebda Store's team does not see or approve your shoppers' payments.

Paying your own Ebda Store subscription by InstaPay is a different flow: see How to pay Ebda Store with InstaPay.

Turn it on

  • During setup, on the payment step: switch on InstaPay and enter your InstaPay address (for example yourname@instapay) or the Egyptian mobile number linked to your account. An account name is optional.
  • Later, in Settings > Payments, open the InstaPay card. There you can also change how long an order is held (default 24 hours) and add a note for shoppers in English and Arabic.

InstaPay needs an address or a mobile number before it can be turned on. It is in Egyptian pounds only.

What your shopper does

  1. Picks InstaPay at checkout and places the order.
  2. Sees your InstaPay address or number, the exact amount, and the order number.
  3. Transfers the money and takes a screenshot of the receipt.
  4. Uploads the screenshot. The AI reads it and fills in the details.
  5. Checks the details and submits. They see "The store owner will review your transfer."

What you do: review the receipt

  1. Open the order. Orders waiting on InstaPay show Awaiting InstaPay.
  2. In the receipt panel, compare the screenshot with the submitted details and with your banking app.
  3. Look at the warnings (they are hints, not blocks):
    • amount different from the order
    • wrong or missing receiver
    • date older than the order, too old, or in the future
    • low confidence in the AI read
    • looks edited
    • same screenshot used before
  4. Tap Payment received to approve. The order is confirmed and can be shipped.
  5. Or reject with a reason (at least 3 characters). The shopper sees the reason and can upload again. The order waits 24 more hours.

A transfer reference that was already used is refused automatically.

The rules

  • An order waiting for review is not shipped and not counted as paid revenue.
  • No proof sent: if you do not confirm before the deadline, the order expires: it is cancelled, stock goes back on sale, and you and the shopper are notified.
  • Shopper already sent proof: the order is not auto-cancelled after 24 hours. It waits for your review.
  • An order can be confirmed only once. Tapping twice is safe.
  • Only approve after you have seen the money in your banking app.

Refunds

Ebda Store cannot send money back for you. Refund the shopper yourself by InstaPay, then record it on the order.

  1. Send the money back by InstaPay.
  2. Open the order and tap Record InstaPay refund.
  3. Enter the reference, date, recipient name exactly as shown, and the amount. A screenshot is optional.
  4. A full refund marks the order refunded and puts the stock back. A smaller amount marks it partially refunded.

Only the store owner can record refunds. Staff cannot, even with other order permissions.
