Ebda Store

Invoices and credit notes

One document per sale

Every order gets a document the moment it is placed:

  • a Tax invoice (INV-000001, INV-000002, …) when your store is verified for VAT and the order carries VAT;
  • otherwise a Sales receipt (RCT-000001, …) with no VAT wording.

Each type has its own series for your store, and the numbers follow each other with no gaps: a number is only used when the order really exists. The number is not the order number (ORD-…), which stays as the order's reference.

The document lists every line the customer pays for: the products, the shipping, the cash-on-delivery fee and any extra amount, then the discounts, the VAT and the total. The lines always add up to the total.

Refunds and cancellations

  • Refund (full or partial, through a payment provider, a return, or a refund you record yourself): a Credit note (CRN-…) for a tax invoice, or a Refund receipt (RFR-…) for a receipt. It has its own number and names the original document's number and date. Several partial refunds give several notes; together they never exceed the original.
  • Cancelled before any money was taken: the document keeps its number and is marked Cancelled. Nothing is deleted.

Where to find them

Open your store and go to Invoices & credit notes to see every document, filter by type and open or print one. Each order page also lists its own documents.

Kept for 6 years

Issued documents can never be edited or deleted. They are kept for 6 years, even if your store is closed or deleted, because Egyptian tax law requires invoices and records to be kept (Unified Tax Procedures Law 206/2020, Articles 37, 38 and 44). When a store is deleted, its orders' tax figures and Ebda Store's subscription billing records are moved to a locked tax archive without customer contact details. A store cannot be deleted while money is still in flight (paid orders not delivered yet, transfers awaiting confirmation, open returns, or cash on delivery not settled).

Good to know

  • Ebda Store does not submit e-invoices or e-receipts to the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) yet. Each document keeps a separate place for the ETA reference for when that is added; your document number stays the same.
  • You stay responsible for your own tax returns.
